Education Enhancement
This focuses on improving knowledge retention and course alignment using advanced tools. This work aims to address gaps in engineering education and enhance student engagement, preparing the next generation of researchers and engineers in aerospace biomedical systems.
Strengthening Engineering Pedagogy
Collaboratingwith Dr. Yan Tang (Professor, Mechanical Engineering), this initiative aims to
implement evidence-based teaching strategies, advanced learning tools, and
innovative curricular designs to improve student outcomes and better prepare
our graduates for the challenges of aerospace and biomedical engineering

Project-Based Learning
We incorporate project-based learning into our courses to promote deeper engagement and meaningful connections between theory and practice. Drawing on workshops and seminars at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Center for Project-Based Learning, we implement multidisciplinary projects that challenge students to apply their knowledge to authentic engineering problems. Through these endeavors, we encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, thereby equipping our students with the skills and confidence necessary for their future careers.
Vertical Alignment Efforts
In our efforts to create a cohesive and logically structured curriculum, we collaborate across Physics, Aerospace, and Mechanical Engineering to establish vertical alignment. By working together through initiatives like the Alignment Collaboration Team (ACT), we implement assessment tools—such as pre- and post-tests in foundational, intermediate, and advanced courses—to ensure that each stage of learning builds upon prior skills and concepts. This systematic approach enhances retention, strengthens conceptual understanding, and ultimately prepares our students for success in upper-level coursework and professional practice.
